Privacy

What this site collects, what it doesn't, and how to change your mind. In plain language, because a policy you can't read isn't a policy.

Effective 22 September 2026.

Analytics

Right now, this site runs no analytics at all unless you accept them. Until you click Accept in our consent prompt, no analytics script is loaded, no request is made to any analytics provider, and no cookies are set.

If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to tell repeat visits apart, and it sends Google the pages you view on this site, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and general details about your browser and device. We use it to see which pages people find useful. We do not use it for advertising and we have not enabled Google Signals or ad personalisation.

We also record a small number of our own events when analytics are enabled: that someone joined the waitlist, that a call-to-action was clicked, and that an article was read to the end. These are counts, not profiles, and they are not linked to your email address.

Changing your mind

Withdrawing is as easy as consenting, and it is the same one click. — or use the "Privacy settings" link in the footer of any page — and choose Reject. We delete the Google Analytics cookies for this domain and reload the page so the script is no longer running.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under citt-consent, not in a cookie, and it never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data clears it, and we will ask again. If we ever change what we ask for, we will ask again then too.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we collect your email address, and the browser you use if you chose to tell us. The browser field is optional and nothing is pre-selected.

Your email is stored by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the email service we use to send the launch announcement. Signing up is double opt-in: you will get a confirmation email, and if you don't confirm, you are not on the list.

We use it to email you about this product — the launch, and occasional updates about how it's going. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone other than Kit. Every email has an unsubscribe link, which works immediately. To have your data deleted entirely, email us and we'll remove you from Kit and confirm when it's done.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, their servers process requests in order to send you pages, and keep standard logs that can include IP addresses for a limited period for security and operational reasons. We don't use those logs for analytics.

Third parties

There are no others. No advertising networks, no embedded widgets, no social media buttons, no chat boxes, no A/B testing tools. Our fonts are self-hosted, so loading this page does not tell Google Fonts anything about you.

The complete list of third parties that can receive anything about your visit is: Vercel (hosting), Kit (only if you join the waitlist), and Google Analytics (only if you accept).

Contact

TODO before launch: add the contact email address here. Privacy requests cannot be honoured until this is a real, monitored address.

Can I throw this?

Take back your browser. Throw out everything the web put there without your permission.

Google Analytics runs only if you say yes.
